Delaware prepares for the promise of sports betting

Here we have another article talking about single betting as if it is a 100% certainty for Delaware sports betting. The NFL and their goons, I mean lawyers, are going to do everything they can to make sure the 6 team parlay card is the only viable option for NFL betting in Delaware.

At Delaware Park, which offers horse racing and slots, a few gamblers sat around televisions while others placed bets at other racing venues during the track’s scheduled day off Thursday.

Gentile pointed at the hundreds of television displays as he walked through the various rooms and levels at the historic racetrack. Come fall, he said, they will be tuned to every major sporting event worth betting on.

The park’s top brass is giddy with the prospect of sports betting. They have ideas about turning the racebook into a Las Vegas-style sports book, complete with rows of digital boards with every betting option available, Gentile said.

Money lines, point spreads, in-game bets, future bets, and anything else you can imagine will be available at Delaware sports books, he said.

Gentile was only half joking when said he wants the book to become such a draw that even the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest each July will be available for a wager or two.

“We really expect there to be, based on the calls we’re getting, a lot of interest,” Gentile said. “It’s going to bring a lot of excitement, and we’re hoping it will give us a competitive edge.”
